You might have caught a few of us performing with Picturehouse on the Ray Darcy show last Friday on RTE Radio 1. If you didn’t, you can listen back below. We’re performing with them at their headline show at the National Concert Hall on the 13th of September. The gig marks 21 years since the release of Picturehouse’s debut album Shine Box. We can’t wait!
Last weekend the choir gathered for a tough two long days of recording. While we still have a long way to go with mixing, mastering, design etc this was a big step towards making our album real. Below are some photos and videos from the weekend. Thanks to Kevin, Chris, Killian, Jason and Ruth for making the weekend happen.
Songs In The Key of D
After three sell out shows the Songs In the Key of D choir are reforming for a new performance in the National Concert Hall in July 2014. We are recruiting for a few new members to compliment the existing choir.
Whether you are a professional singer, a choral expert or can just hold a tune, we would like to hear from you. It doesn’t matter how good or bad a singer you think you think you are. You’ll be surprised at what you learn about your voice while singing in a choir!
The choir’s repertoire explores musicians from Handel to Hansard and Lynott to Drew and will be a wonderful opportunity to be part of an exciting new choir. Itʼs open to anyone living in or around Dublin, whether youʼre born in the city or not. People from everywhere are invited – you should love Dublin and love music.
The choir was set up set up to bring together people living in all parts of Dublin to explore songs that have a connection with the city and and to capture what songs most represent about it both in the past and present.
Auditions will take place between 7-9pm in the Red Room in Student Centre, University College Dublin on May 1st
Rehearsals will take place on the Sunday afternoons during May and June, with a little bit extra in the run up to the performance.
