Songs in the Key of D are an amateur choir, led by professional directors, with a repertoire made up entirely of songs that are either about Dublin or that have a strong link with Dublin. We sing everything from the Hallelujah Chorus to The Script! Established in 2013 by producer Eoin Kilkenny, for what would become two sold out shows for Dublin’s Fringe Festival, the choir have gone from strength to strength since.
The choir is led by not one but two musical directors in KC Fusion’s, Chris O’Sullivan and Killian Grumley Traynor. They’ve formed a unique and successful partnership over the years, mashing Dublin’s artists together to create new arrangements like “Summer in the Rare Auld Times”, “Tell Me Why I Can’t Be Moved” and the “Bell X1, the Great Flame Of My Nigh”.
Performances to date include sold out shows at the National Concert Hall, the Mansion House for the 300th anniversary and most recently in Trafalgar Square for London’s St Patrick’s Festival.
